Molly 8 Month Update

Weight & Height: still about 18 pounds

Eating: Molly is eating a mixture of baby foods and starter foods. She loves mac n cheese, waffles, cheerios, avocados, really she loves anything I put in front of her! She also take about 4 bottles a day. In the morning she eats about 4-5oz and some breakfast and then a 6oz bottle around 10 and another one around 2 or 3 (with lunch in between) and then 6-8oz at bed time, and dinner sometime around 5pm.

Sleeping (naps): Molly wakes between 5-6am depending on the day. Then she will nap around 8am for about an hour or less. She will take another afternoon nap around 12pm for 1-2 hours and another cat nap around 5pm for 30minutes then goes to bed around 7pm.

Sleeping (at night): We have regressed a little in the sleeping at night. She still mostly sleeps through the night but recently with teething and getting sick she has gotten up anywhere from 1-5 times in the middle of the night. Most of the time I don’t feed her I just put the pacifier back in her mouth but sometimes I have to give her 4oz of formula to get her back to sleep around 4am.

Clothing: Molly is wearing mostly 12 month clothes

New this month:
Molly started crawling a couple days after her 7month birthday! She is moving all over the place now.
She started daycare this month and some days are better than others but she does like it over there but she’s still a little cranky once in awhile.
   Eating lots of solid foods
Pulling herself up on the furniture
Sitting up in the bathtub by herself

Nicknames: Crazy, maniac (she’s is a feisty one!)

Molly likes:

Crawling around and chasing a ball
   Watching mother goose club
   Watching Morgan sing and dance
   Eating food
   Hearing herself scream

Molly dislikes:
Getting her diaper changed or clothes changed
   Getting her face washed
Not being held, lately she has been really needy

How’s Morgan:
Morgan is doing great and getting over a cold as well. She loves daycare and we rarely have potty training accidents anymore. She is still wearing a diaper when she sleeps. She loves her sister and is very protective of her at daycare. I love seeing Morgan and Molly play together they have a lot of fun with each other. She is communicating really well and every day it gets more fun with her. On the other hand she also has her tantrums and does not like it when Matt and I tell her ‘no’.

Molly 7 Month Update

Weight & Height: Not sure how much since we don’t go to the doctors for another 2 months

Eating: Molly has a bottle when she wakes up around 6 then some fruit baby food around 7:30 then takes another bottle around 9:30/10 then will eat lunch baby food around 12. She will take a bottle when she wakes up from her afternoon nap around 2:30/3 and then has dinner baby food around 5 and then her last bottle at 7 before bed. Her bottles are between 5-6oz and she usually has 1 to 1 ½ containers of baby food for each meal. She has also started to nibble on some solid food like pasta and soft fruits.

Sleeping (naps): Molly will usually take about an hour nap in the morning around 8am then will take a longer 2 hour nap in the afternoon around 1. Around 5pm she starts to get a little cranky and will go back down for a 40minute nap and then is up till 7pm when she goes to bed. (FYI this is still exactly the same from last month)

Sleeping (at night): We have taken a huge turn on the sleeping at night in the best direction! Molly will go to sleep at 7pm and sleep straight till 6ish (sometimes even 7)! Once in awhile she will wake up in the middle of the night crying and I will have to help her get readjusted in her crib and put her pacifier back in but usually only happens once now. Halleluiah!

Clothing: Molly is wearing 9 month clothes and some 12 month clothes

New this month:
Molly loves to make bubbling noises with her lips it sounds like she is an airplane about to take off!
She is moving around so much! Still no crawling but it will happen in no time I am sure
She is determined to want to stand up on her own its crazy
Molly is more content now that she is able to move around a little more she is starting to be such a happy baby and we are enjoying every moment of her
This month I will be going back to work so I am nervous about how she is going to do but I know it will just take time to adjust.

Nicknames: Pumpkin

Molly likes:

   Taking baths with her sister
Watching Morgan play and laughing with her
   Watching mickey mouse
Her blanket and lion in her crib (finally let her have a blanket in her crib)
   Sleeping on her stomach

Molly dislikes:
   Getting out of the bath
Getting her diaper changed by someone other than her mom haha
Still does not like being in one place for too long
   Being over tired

How’s Morgan:
Morgan is doing good and is also doing great at daycare. I am excited for this next chapter in our lives of me going back to work. I also signed Morgan up for gymnastics so I am excited about her trying that out. Sometimes as a mom I want to do so many things with the girls and I have expectations that never get met because one kid starts crying or throwing a fit so I am trying to remind myself that they are just as happy playing in the backyard as they are going to the zoo and I don’t have to try and do it all all the time by myself.

Molly 6 Month Update

Weight & Height: Molly is 18lbs and 27 inches tall

Eating: Molly is taking 6oz of formula every 4 hours and has rice ceral with fruit for breakfast and then usually some veggie and fruit combination around 3 or 4pm. She also has started real solids and likes bananas and papayas. She also tried eggs this month. She can also pick up her yogurt melts and puffs from the highchair

Sleeping (naps): Molly will usually take about an hour nap in the morning around 8am then will take a longer 2 hour nap in the afternoon around 1. Around 5pm she starts to get a little cranky and will go back down for a 40minute nap and then is up till 7pm when she goes to bed.

Sleeping (at night): Molly is not the best night time sleeper. She goes to bed great at 7pm but then will wake up 2-3times throughout the night. The first time I can usually just put the pacifier back in her mouth but by 4am she wants to get up. She isn’t even hungry I think she is just done sleeping. It is really frustrating and tiring so I am hoping to let her cry it out this week and maybe she will be able to put herself back to sleep on her own, till at least 6!

Clothing: Molly is wearing 9 month old clothes.

New this month:
Molly is starting to move all around. She will go from side to side and push herself backwards. She has also started getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth.
   Eating solid food
Molly also got her first tooth! It broke through about a couple days ago and would explain her recent crankiness.

Nicknames: Screamer and crazy, this girl is full of energy and so loud!

Molly likes:

   Eating
   Jumping in her bouncer
   Playing with her toys
   Rolling from side to side
   Watching her sister
   Swinging

Molly dislikes:

Being in one place for too long
Sometimes she hates being in the car seat for too long
   Being overly tired

How’s Morgan:
I wanted to add a little something in here about Morgan. Even though I am not doing updates for her I want to remember what she was like at this age. Morgan has a ton of personality and is starting to talk really well. She has some attitude and her favorite snarky things to say include “I don’t care mom” and “No, I am fine!”. She is a typically two year old in that respect but loves playing with her sister and is so kind and loving. Whenever I get dressed or put on make up she always says “Mom you’re so pretty” and she loves to say “That’s amazing!”. Morgan is obsessed with Frozen and dressing up in princess clothes. She loves to sing and has recently learned the songs ABCs, Twinkle twinkle, wheels on the bus and row row row your boat. I absolutely love the person you are turning into Morgan you are so much fun!
