Molly's Birth Story

Since I did a birth story for Morgan, I wanted to make sure I did one for Molly while my memory is still fresh :)

Molly's birth story is very different than Morgan's because first it was about half the time and everything went a lot smoother because I knew what to expect. Luckily my mom got here 2 days before Molly decided to make her appearance. Molly was born on July 21, 2016 at 38 weeks and 1 day. She weighed 6lbs 9oz and was 19 inches long. On Thursday morning I woke up feeling completely fine. I as expecting to maybe feel a little different because I had the doctor do a membrane sweep the day before to help induce labor. We started our day like we always do and headed out to stroller warriors to go for a walk and let Morgan play at the park with her friends. I was having some small contractions at the park but didn't think much of it. By the time we left the park my mom and I decided to go to get lunch at the Greek restaurant on base and that's when my contractions started to pick up. Matt had to go to an appointment and so once we got Morgan put down for a nap my mom helped me labor through most of the contractions at home. I didn't have nearly as bad of back labor this time around and things seemed to progress way quicker this time! Once Matt got home they were getting pretty intense and so I took a shower and then we headed to the hospital.

Once we got to the hospital around 2:30pm and found out I was 6cm dilated we were admitted and I was so happy to be dilated so far! I got and epidural pretty fast and finally started to relax. My mom and Morgan stopped by to hang out for a little bit. Morgan was a little scared of me sitting in the hospital bed with all the IV's hooked up to me.

The doctor came in an hour or so later and broke my water. My mom and Morgan headed home and then Matt and I just hun out and waited. Around 8:45pm the doctor finally came back in and realized it was time to start pushing. I started pushing around 8:58pm and Molly was born at 9:05pm! Only took a couple pushes and she was out which was so much easier than the 3 hours I pushed with Morgan!

The next day my mom and Morgan came to the hospital to meet Molly. Morgan was a little hesitant at first but soon fell in love with her and is the best big sister!

We are so lucky to have Molly as a part of our family of four :)

36 Weeks Pregnant!

I am hoping this may be my last post before baby (fingers crossed she decides to make her arrival around 38 weeks!)

WEEK 36

Estimated Due Date: August 3, 2016

Gender: Girl :) Molly Duggan-Childs

Weight Gain28 maybe 30 now who knows…..lol

Eats and Treats: lemonade, watermelon, dark chocolate, cinnamon rolls (nothing healthy for me haha)

How I Am Feeling: Well this baby has definitely giving me a harder time than Morgan. The heartburn and indigestion is sooooo bad and I have relly bad lower pelvic pressure and pain. Not to mention the cramping and stomach aches of man I will be happy when I am not pregnant anymore.

Clothing: maternity dresses, workout clothes and sweat pants

Exercise: No more running for me, the lower pressure pain has gotten too bad. I am still trying to walk 2x a week and getting in some lunges/weight work outs about 2x a week as well. It is getting harder to do anything with the pain and the exhaustion.

Most Looking Forward To: Having this baby! And the baby potluck my friend Sarah is having for us on Sunday.

Thankful For: My mom coming out in about 10 days! I don’t think I could do this without her!

Baby #2- 32 Weeks

WEEK 32

Estimated Due Date: August 3, 2016

Gender: Girl :) Molly Duggan-Childs

Weight Gain20 pounds and I will probably gain a pound a week from here on out so probably about 30 pounds total for this pregnancy

Eats and Treats: dark chocolate Klondike bars, dark chocolate anything really, fruit, ice cold drinks (Green tea), rice krispy treats

How I Am Feeling: I don’t feel like the baby has dropped because there is so much upper pressure its uncomfortable to sit straight up. Some days I feel great and others I just want to lay down and sleep all day.

Clothing: Mixture between yoga pants and workout clothes. With the weather getting warmer I am able to wear some of my maxi skirts and dresses which is awesome to get dressed in regular clothes again!

Exercise: Still running about 3 times a week for 2.5-3 miles. On Tuesday I averaged a 10:30/mile but I wasn’t pushing the stroller. I am also adding in some workout DVDs like 21 day fix. I plan on still trying to go to HIIT once a week but it’s starting to get more difficult. Overall, trying to get in a workout 5x a week.

Most Looking Forward To: All the fun weekend activities we have planned in the month of June. We are going to Wales this weekend to go hiking and in two weeks Morgan turns 2!

Thankful For: Morgan, she has been such a sweetheart lately and I am trying to soak up all this one on one time we have together before Molly arrives.

Baby #2 - 28 Weeks

We just got back from our trip to Norway with my Dad and stepmom and it was an amazing trip! Norway should be a place to visit on everyone's bucket list, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been!
I got a little behind on my pregnancy updates but truthfully not a whole lot has happened other than entering my third trimester and the heartburn coming back in full force.

WEEK 28

Estimated Due Date: August 3, 2016

Gender: Girl :) Molly Duggan-Childs

Weight Gain18 pounds, going on vacation had a lot to do with gaining some weight but I still feel like I am on track with a healthy weight gain.

Eats and Treats: watermelon, donuts, ice coffee (yea I still need a little caffeine in my life) any hot drinks sound gross but ice the and, sparkling water is really hitting the spot.

How I Am Feeling: I can definitely feel how big the baby is getting and the weight gain but overall I still feel pretty good.

Clothing: I pretty much live in workout clothes. I did get a chance to finally wear my LuLa Roa maxi skirt the other day because it finally got warm enough and it was so comfortable! I see a lot of maxi dresses in my future.

Exercise: While we were pretty active on vacation with walking and hiking getting back into running and HIIT has been rough, I am very sore! I still managed to get 3 runs in and 1 HIIT class. I may try and do a 21 day fix workout video this weekend too.

Most Looking Forward To: Warm and sunny days in England spending more time outside with Morgan and soaking up the sun. I am also enjoying our time together before I have to split my time between both girls.

Thankful For: Another healthy and relatively easy pregnancy. I am always so sick in the beginning but the second and third trimester are usually pretty easy which I am thankful for.

Also to add to the list I miss sleeping on my stomach and WINE! I am currently slowly filling up my wine rack so by the time I have the baby I have a full variety of wine to chose from!

Baby #2 - 22 Weeks

I'm sorry baby #2, you have already fallen into the second child syndrome. I didn't get my first baby bump picture until I was nearly half way through the pregnancy :( But, at least I got one! This month has been crazy with stomach flu and colds to having my mom and aunt visit and Matt and I taking a trip to Iceland.

The nice thing about waiting to do a baby bump post is that we already know the gender and the name! So here we go...

WEEK 22

Estimated Due Date: August 3, 2016 (But please feel free to come early, it will make out move a lot easier!)

Gender: Another Girl :) Molly Duggan-Childs

Weight Gain12 pounds! Probably a lot to do with Easter candy and being sick/ot working out for awhile.

Eats and Treats: ice-cream, fresh fruit and yogurt!

How I Am Feeling: Still sick with a sinus infection but the pregnancy is feeling great.

Clothing: Lots of yoga pants, maternity jeans and workout clothes

Exercise: Still trying to run with Stroller Warriors 2x a week and got to HIIT class 2x a week.
